Anton Chekhov
Anton Chekhov was widely known as one of the greatest Russian authors of short stories. He practiced as a medical doctor throughout most of his literary career and stated "Medicine is my lawful wife, and literature is my mistress." He was often considered a dramatist which earned him perhaps four of the most famous Russian plays ever known. Anton first only wrote these significant plays for financial gain but later realized he had a special delight for these writings. His original writing style consisted of the stream-of-consciousness technique which was later used by many other modernists of the same genre. This technique went against traditional writing style which angered readers throughout Russia. Although many people complained about his style of writing, Anton Chekhov has no response and held true to himself along with his own techniques. Even though Chekhov's writings styles were posed unique and strange, it is safe to say his legacy will live on forever with the help of modern day writers willing to adopts his original styles.
